Here's a surprise: the Ohana is in Tumon, yet it's retained a degree of soul. Maybe it's because it's away from the beachfront and the attendant, seething masses of humanity, and therefore doesn't have to shoehorn package tourists in and out. Or maybe they just like it this way.
In any case, this hotel is a pleasing alternative to the glam and pomp of the larger resorts. The Ohana boasts an intriguing '50s-style lobby furnished with native elements (things like faux bamboo and a few Chamorro prints on the walls) and the sparse, minimalist rooms are tastefully decked out with king beds and Asian-style interior design. They're clean and comfortable to boot. The hotel also features a large terrace (but a small pool), perfect for sunset drinkies, and a spa. There's a reasonable Italian restaurant on site, but do bear in mind Tumon positively heaves with eateries. Guests are entitled to use the Outrigger Resort's water park facilities, and that's got to be a boon if you're travelling with kids.
