Hotel accommodations on Guadeloupe is generally of good standard. Resorts here are generally small by the standards of the Caribbean and large resorts are rare. Most hotels are midsized and midrange, and prices are reasonable by the standards of the region.
Room rates are for the high season (generally from December to April and July to August). Low-season rates can be much cheaper than those quoted here. Generally, you can expect a reduction of between 20% and 40% between May and July and from September to November.
Many of Guadeloupe’s most charming accommodations are private guesthouses (chambres d’hôte) or freestanding houses and cottages to rent (gîtes), but they generally require booking by the week. See www.gitesdefrance.fr for more details.
Most hotels don’t include breakfast in the room price, but the majority do serve it for an extra charge.
