Hi all,

Me and my girlfriend are going to travel guadelope and the surrounding islands.
However we are a bit lost on how to do the transportation( should we rent scooters/car etc.)
Does anyone has any tips on we should do this? Or any other tips and tricks for that matter.

Cheers!

zika virus

hi guys,
we r planning to go on a cruise at the end of february and we'll stay one day in guadaloupe too.
my wife is pregnant, 5th month, and we are keeping on reading so many worrying news about zika virus.
some news really scare us, some other seem not to make you worry.
how is the situation like here?
do u think it would be a risk for us? on one hand we' r, or we try to be a bit confident 'cos it will be a cruise, but do you think that the visits of the island might be dangerous?
thanks in advance…

hi guys,

a quick question

we'll be in Guadalupe at the beginning of march during a cruise, we have read about the marvellous beaches or St Anne and Bois Jolan.

first of all, how can we reach St Anne beach from the Cruise port? are there public buses or better by taxi? In St Anne we d like to reach the east part of the beach, not the one where Club Med is located ( just to understand)
Moreover, i cant understand how can we reach bois jolan beach.

considering that we have just a few hours…

Hi guys,
we are a couple from italy who will come to Guadaloupe at the end of February just for some hours, during a cruise in the Caribbean. We are two adventurous travelers as you can see in our blog: www.born2travel.it
This time we have had to choose a more relaxing thing 'cos my wife is pregnant and we can't do any hard activities.
Considering that we'll stay just few hours, from the morning till the evening, and that we don't wanna follow the groups of the cruise, what would you suggest to do…

I've just started researching the island but I've found bnbs/hotels for under $50 USD in March and even a hostel. I get that it's not cental America cheap, but am I missing something? I suppose it also helps that ive been searching in vain for the past couple days to find a place in the Florida keys for under $120..smh
Thanks!

I've seen Guadeloupe in the TV series Death in Paradise and I think I'd like to go there.

It's tough to find flights from Vancouver though.

Where do flights to Guadeloupe originate mostly?

Is it worth a visit.

My wife and I are NOT beach goers, we are more hikers and walkers.

Norwegian has fares starting at $180 for return flights (including taxes and fees) from Boston and Baltimore. Any recommendations on where to stay for such a short trip? Do I need to rent a car?

Other than beaches what else is there to do? Im thinking rainforest hike (and hopefully ziplining).

I just bought tickets to Guadeloupe, March 2016. We are a family of 5 ( kids aged 5,10,12), and have been to Mauritius, Boracay / Philippines, Florida, Greece etc.

When we are travelling, we always try to locate quiet places with local "touch" - not mainstream all-inclusive - but self catering; and we love it:) We like to have grocery stores etc nearby, but not to crowdy places

I am not sure where to go after we have our touchdown in Guadaloupe - any suggestions? Mainland Guadaloupe or…

Hi Folks!
I just bought tickets to Guadeloupe, March 2016. We are a family of 5 ( kids aged 5,10,12), and have been to Mauritius, Boracay / Philippines, Florida, Greece etc.

When we are travelling, we always try to locate quiet places with local "touch" - not mainstream all-inclusive - and we love it:) Self-catering is often our best choice.

I am not sure where to go after we have our touchdown in Guadaloupe - but I am thinking of either Marie Galante or Les Saintes. Any thoughts?

Best regards…

I actually wrote an entire article about this because I want to tell everyone about it! I have gone from barely being able to string a few sentences together when I got here (I am English but had been living in the Netherlands for a few months so was very much focussed on Dutch)to now being fluent.

Here it is!
