Hello
we are a family of three - 36 year old couple with 3 year old son who have just given up work to have 9 months of travel starting by home sitting in France. We would like to move from there to travel abit round Europe then come back to travel the UK in the Spring. we are sorting out money, and all sorts of rubbish at present, its mind blowing how much there is to think about! we are inspired by the people in this group. All we need now is courage!

soultravelers3 Welcome & good luck! The hardest part is making the decision and planning. Actually doing it is easy! ;)

We are in Provence now and are really enjoying it. This is a place and adventure not to be missed...the Camarague! http://www.soultravelers3.com/2010/08/stunning-horses-in-the-camargue-france-family-travel-ideal-vacation-holiday-saintes-maries-de-la-mer.html#tp
Hello All.
WOW what a great group for inspiration and to affirm that what we intend to do is great. Next August (2011) Me, Madalen (wife) and our two daughters Ellie (5 yrs) and Ava 18 months are planning a trip that has no specifics. We have travelled quite extensively when we were younger and our daughter Ellie has been to koh samui when she was two and she just blossomed as we all when we travel. I suppose a bit of background wont hurt :) We live in Perth Western Australia and when we travel will be 40. We will have about $50K AUD more be more. We intend to start in Thailand as a starting point and then just keep going. Would love to hear some tips and recommended strategies as well as recommended itinerary. Expecting things to be so different to when it was just me. I suppose confidence would be along way especially with kids. Its a hard mind set to break about safety but I dont really feel this way but society just loves scaring you into being stuck in the norm.

soultravelers3 Thanks and welcome! You will have a great time, trust yourself! Maybe we can meet when we are in that area!
Are you planning around the world family trip or are you on one? Are you interested in the dream of doing this some day? Interested in a European road trip or long term travel? How about a permanent vacation or family travel as a lifestyle? This group is for you!

We are a family that has been on an open ended, non-stop world tour since 2006 with no end in sight! We travel the world for much less than we could live at home, on just 23 dollars a day per person. We've been to 32 countries, 4 continents & traveled 175, 000 miles so far ( mostly overland) using everything from camels to cargo ships and staying in everything from 5 star hotels to campsites. We've learned a few things along the way & glad to share them with you!
