Hey am currently driving down west coast of america and am looking at heading down into mexico, we don't speak spanish and are planning on sticking to the west coast of mexico apart from a trip into mexico city to pick up a friend from the airport. We are looking at crossing the Tijuana border heading down the baja coast then getting car ferried across to Mazatlan then driving futher down the coast. It is safe enough to drive down there? Has anyone been down there recently?

Any help will be greatly appreciated Thankyou

I am planning a holiday to Mexico's gulf coast in August with my partner, we do not want to stay in a hotel preferred choice is a lodge of some sort on the beach, very secluded and laid back, could anyone possibly help with a website suggestion as all travel sites only seem to advertise expensive hotels, we don't want anything to commercial either, very basic, any suggestions would be appreciated as we need to start planning our trip!!

    thanks in advance

    Hi!
I'm planing to go to Mexico end of May, begining of June.
I wanted to visit the yucatan but also make some trecks. I think around Veracruz or Oaxaca. Which one is the best? Is it difficult to go by car to these cities? How long does it take from San Cristobal?
Many thanks in advance for your advices!

I'm new to this group as am interested in travelling to Mexico for the first time next year (after wonderfiul trip to Guatemala this year). I am especially interested in Spanish schools, multi-day horse back trips and snorkelling / scuba diving.

This is me sharing a kiss with a dolphin in a wonderful hotel in Cancun. I love everything about Mexico from the colonial cities to the Mayan jungles to Rosarito to the Pacific coast. Guadalajara is my favorite large city. I don't go for expat enclaves, but it's nice to find some people who speak your own language once in a while. My Spanish should be better. I find the courses that teach language "like a baby learns a language" don't do it or me. I have to know how words are spelled and what they look like written. I'm studying "Visual Link" Spanish now, and I am learning more than I have in any Spanish language school. None of it will stay with you, however, if you don't practice with other Spanish speakers.

    Vote for Mexico!

The Discovery Channel is conducing an online vote to see where people want the next "Amazing Race" series to be filmed. Please take a minute and follow this link to vote for Mexico. If Mexico were to win, it would bring attention on an international level to Mexico's colonial history, wonderful beaches and pre-columbian archaeology.

    Please vote!
