I want to travel Yorkshire. Can anyone help me out?? what are the places which I should travel??? I heard a lot about Bronte country. is this really a beautiful place??

pip This should help you get started with some top picks http://tiny.cc/sbhwv Haworth in West Yorkshire is home to where the Bronte sisters wrote many of their literary classics (Jane Eyre, Wuthering Heights) but the surrounding countryside and towns are equally beautiful!

    East End KNEES UP!

East End KNEES UP! I saw these two ladies at Bestival and they are absolutely amazing! Forget BoJo in the Queen Vic, if you fancy a real East End knees up, this is a singalong, cabaret and disco all in one!. It's on at the Hackney Empire, Mary Lloyd Bar, London http://www.hackneyempire.co.uk/17/visiting/marie-lloyd-bar.html Best dressed lad or lady in Red wins a prize. Tickets can be bought from www.WEGOTTICKETS.com. Cor Blimey Gov'nor!

    Wild Food School

Wild Food School Has anyone tried this? It was a really popular feature in Seize the Days a few weeks back and i'm off to Cornwall next week so was thinking of giving it a go.

Anyone else off to the Edinburgh Fringe this weekend?

I am so excited about going to this www.theworldfestival.com
The Capoeira Knights are meant to be amazing and don't forget Lonely Planet are supporting it too! Double whammy!

    Walking in the Lake District

Walking in the Lake District So in preparation for our 3 peaks challenge in August, last weekend was all about Snowdon and this time, we're heading straight up the west side of the country to Borrowdale in Cumbria to begin the climb up Scafell Pike. 5 hours drive, 5 hours walking and then 5 hours drive. It'll be tough but bacon sarnies and tea will fuel us and the thought of a big curry afterwards. Only 2 weeks until we do it for real. Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike and Snowdon, all in 24 hrs. Check out our blog here: http://threepeaksblog.com/ and wish us luck!

    BFI Mediatheque

Can’t believe more people don’t know about this http://tiny.cc/rbf2g

It’s at the BFI on London’s South Bank, it’s free, and it has the most amazing archive of films and documentaries!

It makes the perfect shelter from the British summertime :-)

    Worth a scoop?

Read about a free music festival by London Bridge. Has anyone been? Recommended?
It's called Scoop and on Weds, thurs and fri nights in July.

Camp Bestival Camp Bestival kicks off on Friday. Looking forward to some nice weather (puuurrrlleeeaaase), a well behaved baby and a bit of hedonism (in shifts!) thrown in. www.campbestival.net/

This weekend - or any weekend

Parliament Hill Lido on Hampstead Heath, London is the perfect place to seize a sunny day

    • 27x27

katiee You can also take a dip in the swimming ponds at Hampstead Heath - good for pretending you are wild swimming in the country - well you can pretend...

    The Glastonbury of Meatballs

Don't forget, you've still got time to get to Grottaglie in Puglia, Italy for their annual Sagra della Polpetta, or meatball festival. From September 6th to 7th, local townspeople will be selling insane numbers of delicious morsels from streetside stalls: big meatballs, small meatballs, long meatballs, spicy meatballs...some as big as your head!

    StreetPianos - Quick!

Not sure if this is an annual thing, but loved the Street Piano's initiative this weekend in London. Basically, there are 30 pianos dotted around london streets, parks and stations which you can go and have a tinkle on. It finished later today when the pianos get donated to London schools etc. So if you've got the chance today, find a piano on the map on this link and get playing your own gig!http://tinyurl.com/m8gqx4
