Springtime in London: a soundtrack So, it just occurred to me that it's now springtime in London (even if the temps are more like a Melbourne winter). This can only mean one thing: it's time for a swinging springtime London playlist! Think happy, half-dressed Londoners frolicking in scorching 15-degree sunshine... flower-children and Carnaby St posers emerging from hibernation... Edina and Patsy shopping for bikinis... what would your soundtrack be? Here's mine... - "Itchycoo Park" - the Small faces - "Waterloo Sunset" - the Kinks - theme from Blow-Up - Herbie Hancock - "Peacock Suit" - Paul Weller - "Can't Explain" - the Who - "Wheels On Fire" - Ab Fab version

vivekw Surely PSB's "King's Cross" has to make the list? And, not to be too trite, but "London Calling" needs to be up there too.
vivekw Whoa - look what the Internets just gave me: http://popjunkietv.com/2008/10/21/our-top-100-favourite-london-songs-1-50-the-kinks-to-the-byrds/!
And where the heck are all the other members - surely someone else has an opinion?
suzywatusi That's a cool list, thanks Vivek! I was going to include some Jam songs, but thought they were a bit aggressive for a springtime playlist... A-Bomb in Wardour St... hmmm...
I've never heard the Pet Shop Boys song! :-)
