    Hey guys!
I have entered a huge travel competition which asks you to show your passion for travelling and create your perfect adventure. The competition itself is half based on popular votes and half on a panel of judges. I was hoping that some of you might consider reading my entry and voting for me if you like what you read? I am very excited about this opportunity and have been working non stop on raising awareness to my entry for the past week and hope i can gain the support of some of the people on here =).
Here is the link to my competition entry: http://createyourownadventure.com/tour/dxJlOVC36vOr/
To vote just use the stars on the left hand side of the page. I thank anyone in advance who is nice enough to understand truly incredible opportunity.
The competition is now closed for new entries but you can still enter for a random mystery tour so good luck if you do!
    Thank you!
    Colette x

alwloch 15 years back drove an old jeep to Costa Rica from Ottawa. Their new tax on imported used vehicles had just doubled; drove on to Panama; a new ferry service had just come into being; drove to Colon, onto the ferry; arriving in Cartagena continued on over the equator.

Obviously, I love the rainforest and, in an effort to protect and save it, we set up www.Aiko-logi-Tours.com to share the experience with you.

Aiko-logi-Tours a 135 hectare private reserve at the Costa Rican caribbean coast near Puerto Viejo and Cahuita.

It´s easy to get to yet completely virgin and off the beaten track. We set up Aiko-camp where you can even spend the night in the forest - an experience I strongly recommend to anyone only slightly interested in the rainforest!

Our idea is to always have very few people on the land at any time not to spoil the experience. We do want to have fun at Aiko, but not the conventional "adventure" way - no rafting, rappel or hanging bridges here! We show you plants, animals and tell you about the local culture, which - with all due respect . is way more exciting :)

alwloch Will enter the Amazon rain forest this coming March. Plan is to go by land to Cusco, Peru to Puerto Maldonado ~ Iñapari to Rio Branco on to Manaus near the head of the Amazon. Take a cruise over to Santarem, head south toward a national park full of exotic animals near Cuiaba; then on to Iguazu Falls. Haven't been in a jungle since I drove to the end of the road at Rio Napo, Ecuador with Ontario plates; swam the river to escape an organized tour ~ tourists were putting on long rubber boots before embarking motorized long canoes that would ultimately take them to an implanted jungle tourist trap set up with pet parrots and monkeys.

subside wow - that sounds really interesting!
Unfortunaltely, most people get caught up in the cited traps ADN think they´ve experienced the rainforest. Rather, it was more like a zoo in a somewhat natural setting. Nothing against that most times, but to really experience the forest, one needs time and tranquility - there´s no substitute for that.
