Going back!
How do you all feel about going back? Personally I love going home on holidays, but I also feel like I've changed in ways that it's hard for my family and old friends to relate to, and after a week or two I'm quite happy to leave again for my "other country" and my expat life. It's weird to think about never moving back, but it's also weird to think about moving back!
This group is for people living somewhere other than their home country to sing, moan, rant and rave about the ups and downs of expatriate life.
Whether you've been living abroad for 5 days or 5 years (or 50!), you're welcome to join.

remelila I both love it and hate it. Whenever I go back it's a thrill to be physically walking around NYC again, but then it's a mad rush to try to fit in time to see all my family and friends, and so much has changed since my last visit that I feel like a tourist in my own hometown. It's almost upsetting to see that it's been going on living without me (I know, solipsistic much?). It's always a bit of a relief to get home again because I like being in my own bed, but then I miss NYC as soon as I'm back.
