Ice cream discovered in FFrench mountain town

The relative altitude and constant, gentle breeze blowing through the forested valleys of the Cevennes region of France (just north of the Languedoc) keep the summer heat at bay, but there's always the need for ice cream. This is George Hall and I passing a pleasant hour.

The area of the Cevennes around St Jean du Gard is brilliant for dad travellers. There are lots of rivers to swim in - and float down if you're happiest in an inflatable, a steam train to ride on or just gaze open-mouthed at, and few of the crowds that are found in more popular spots.
