Lance aux Épines/Grenada

Introducing Lance aux Épines

Lance aux Épines (lance-a-peen) is the peninsula that forms the southernmost point of Grenada. It’s home to a pretty beach and some of the island’s more upmarket establishments. The marina is a pleasant place to explore, with members of the sailing set and the student body spicing up the atmosphere. Glowering over the water adjacent to the marina is the striking Prickly Bay waterside development, whose multistory luxury apartments make a rather incongruous addition to the otherwise green and pleasant bayside.

With calm, shallow water lined with palms, and with yachts bobbing in the distance, it’s a quiet and relaxed place to swim and sun. A couple of hotels border the sand but it’s rarely busy, and is a great spot for young children. A beach bar serves up food and drink.

If you’re here for diving, ScubaTech is well organized and delivers good wreck dives as well as snorkeling expeditions.
