My friend and I wish to travel from Nafplio to Andritsaina on a Saturday in June, stay Saturday & Sunday night in Andritsaina, then travel on to Olympia on the Monday. Neither of us drives. We are dependent on public transport. The most recent Lonely Planet publication states that Andritsaina can be reached by bus "via Tripoli and Megalopolis", but we can find no other trace of this bus service from Megalopolis to Andritsaina, merely references online to a 45km taxi ride. Likewise, with getting…

So as long as work doesnt hold me up, i should be able to join some work buddies on Crete for almost the full month, theyre gonna rent a house. I have most of the month of August off as well so im open to travel and party if anyone wants to join. Of course, as a single guy, i want to meet people and hopefully go on a date or two with a nice girl but my main focus is the touristy sight-seeing stuff by day, party or relax at night.
Greetings from California! I have had a wonderful experience using this forum to plan vacations in the past and appreciate the help a great deal.
I am planning a Greece trip in June with my husband and 2 kids, ages 16 and 11. Really starting late and have eyeballed inter-island airfares and accommodations enough to see that there is still stuff available but my procrastination is going to cost me.
There are so many options I'm paralyzed in indecision! So...top interests are history…
Can anyone tell me if there will be buses after the 07:45 one this summer? LP suggests there should be 3 a day but the Cretan bus website suggests there will only be one (I accept the full site only has a timetable until 28th April but the "Summer extra Services" page only shows the early morning bus.
I fancied staying Omalos overnight and starting the gorge trek before the crowds arrived.
Thanks in anticipation
Which mountain villages would you recommend on Naxos and why? Any good restaurants for lunch and dinner to suggest? We will be renting a car and driving around for a day or perhaps two.
Also, how tough is it to climb Mount Zeus? We have three children. Two good climbers and a young one that we might have to carry on Dad's back at a certain point.
We are a family of 5 and will rent a car for 3 days when arriving at the Athens airport in July. On the last day we will be in Vouliagmeni, at only 30 minutes from the Airport, and have 2 options
- return the car at the airport and then take public transport to Piraeus
- return the car directly at Piraeus
That second option sounds appealing, but from what I remember the traffic in Athens can also be extremly slow/jammed
So which option is better ?
me and my husband are planning a 6-day trip to Crete in mid-May. We will be moving around in a rental car and are planning on visiting the West of the island (Chania, Elafonisi Beach, Samarian Gorge, Balos and maybe a trip "down" to Plakias - if time allows).
Does anyone have an insight on whether it would be possible to travel without hotel reservations? As we don´t really know if it is relaitic to see all the points on our list, we would prefer deciding on the spot. Has anyone…
