We are traveling with our 8 and 10 year old boys in July in the Greek Islands. We will be flying into Athens and are considering traveling between the islands or a guided catamaran trip. Does anyone have experience with this? We have spent a lot of time in the Caribbean and BVI's on catamarans but was wondering what experiences are like in the Greek Islands for this.
does anybody know what is the cheapest way to get from Santorini to Mykonos? I thought ferry is cheaper than flying but all what I find is more than 80€. What is the cheapest ferry company?
Do I need to book in advance or just show up at the port? Does it operate daily and frequently?
Hope to get some answers here..
Thanks so much in advance :)
I am a single mom traveling with my 7 year old to Greece and, although I've been before, I'm having trouble figuring out where to go. I've been to Naxos years ago, and I think this would be a great island for my daughter and I to explore. But I've never been to Corfu, and it's really in my brain to go! And I would like to also visit Zakynthos, which would be doable from Corfu more easily.
Is it crazy to go first to Naxos for several days and then make our way to Corfu from there…
Hello there, fellow greece enthusiasts!
My fiance and I will be visiting Crete this June.
We're planning on staying in Chania, but our return flight is from Heraklion - pretty early in the morning :(
We were wondering if that's possible to have a fun tour (Possibly a drive between wineries and authentic villages or some food and chat) - even a private one - which will start in Chania, and end in Heraklion, thus preventing us from getting up super early to get there (we'll stay In Heraklion if we…
At the end of the year I have a flight from Cairo to Tel Aviv via Athens (Aegean). I arrive in Athens athens at 6:10AM and depart to Tel Aviv at 4:30PM so if I account for 2hr check-in time and 1hr each way to and from the airport (just to be safe) that leaves me with 6 hours in Athens itself.
Is it realistic to see the Acropolis, Plaka neighbourhood, the Greek parliament and Mount Lycabettus (incl the church on top)?
My plan is to take public transport into the city and walk between…
Hello, fellow travellers.
I’d like to hire a car during my stay in Naxos (May 25 to May 29). Is it more economic to book the car online beforehand or will there be better offers once I’m at Naxos?
My wife and I are planning to go to Greece in late May. We arrive in Athens at 5pm on 26th, and we fly back from Athens on 6th June at 1pm. We would like some guidance on the itinerary below and any additional tips/recommendations you may have. We’ve read some other posts along these lines and are mostly interested in a laid-back trip with history and some beach time. We are not big into parties, vegetarians and also enjoy walking tours to learn about the local history and culture.
Hi I will be returning to Australia from France with my elderly mother late April 2018. I would like to fly to Greece on the way home for a week either mainland or an island. I want a quiet traditional island easy to get around with some historical interest. I would prefer not to drive but rely on public transportation and taxis. Do you have any recommendations? A coastal village would be great but also happy to be inland.
My mom, my friend and I are taking a trip to Europe in July and are keen on visiting a beach in Greece. As we'd really like to visit the Sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone at Eleusis/Elefsina, I noticed it's on the shore and thought it might be easy to tick off two things from our list at once.
I can't seem to find much information on the beach itself, would anyone be able to give the run down here? Is it sandy or full of pebbles, is it safe to swim, etc?
Thanks a bunch!
Hello! My fiance and I are planning our 14-day honeymoon to Greece in mid-September. We definitely plan on visiting Santorini for at least 5 days and spending a few days in Athens before we fly out. We are trying to figure out where else to go, and whether we should visit one or two more places. We are not really into beaches, but love good food, good wine, beautiful vistas, nice shops, good areas to walk around, some adventure (mopeds, sailing, etc) and some bars (though do not need really…
