Hi all,

I'm trying to plan a holiday in Greece. First time solo.
I have a hard time settling on an itinerary as the choice is huge, all those islands!
I would like to visit but also do either cycling, hiking and kayaking (other fun activities too).
Don't need to do all of them but maybe one of two.
I need to pick a cluster of islands and find two or three to visit for two weeks end of Sept-Oct.
Not into complicated travels as it's my fist time solo.
I'd be using hostels as it was strongly suggested…

Hi, I will be heading to Greece (and Turkey) soon and I am allergic to fish. Fortunately it is not a life-threatening allergy and minor cross-contamination (utensils, etc.) is unlikely to set it off. I will obviously avoid ordering giant plates of grilled fish in restaurants, but I'm wondering if anyone has any advice about other foods that might have hidden fish ingredients. For example, in the US, caesar salad is off limits because it has anchovy in the dressing, but you would not look at a…

In a couple of weeks we plan to travel by car Heraklion - Sitia - and on around to Matala. Does anyone know of some nice stops on this route? We've travelled as far as Mochlos before and this will be a new direction for us. We like small hotels/studios and tavernas and great scenery. Not young enough for strenuous hikes but a stroll is always good before an evening in a taverna or on a balcony with wine. Anyone been through this area recently and have some good experiences…

Hi All,

Is entry to the Acropolis Free of Charge on 26 & 27 September? Are there any other popular monuments in Athens which would offer Free entry on these dates?

Thanks

ok, my turn for a change. though I assume I might be able to work out some chunks myself, with the Greek regulars on this branch belonging to the best informed and most helpful members, it seems a missed chance not to ask for support.

situation: two adults and two small kids, flying into Athens in early October and out of Mykonos 12 days later. emphasis is less on historical sites and hiking yet more on family vacation and beach, though not purely. what we like in beaches: sandy. not much…

Hi Guys,
We're heading to Mykonos in September and I'm seeking accommodation advice.
I've been told we want to be close to the town of Mykonos and we like to stay in funky, offbeat accommodations with cool, relaxed owners. Although we like to have fun we're not looking for a crazy, party party...rowdy place. Although nothing wrong with that we're just a bit long in the tooth for it.
Maximum budget is around $150 euros, although we'd prefer to keep it around $100 euros.
Any advice would be…

Hi All - we are on a RTW trip and are currently travelling across Europe in a campervan. We will be finishing in Athens and need someone to drive it back to the UK.

If you are interested, please respond. Ideally over 30s as it makes the insurance much cheaper. You would get use of the camper and our equipment for free and could take a couple of weeks driving it back.

It would need to be collected from us in Athens between the 1st and 5th October.
