Pretend you’re a 19th-century sea captain in this antique-laden jewel. Public spaces are decked out in antique prints, carved woodwork and rotating exhibitions. Gaze at your inlaid ceilings or, in the higher-end rooms, from your balcony.

Our independent authors have visited Miranda and selected this as one of our recommended accommodation in Hydra Town.

Description provided by property

Originally a wealthy sea captain’s mansion built in 1810, the Miranda is a fine example of characteristic local architecture. It is located 100 metres from the port and 200 metres from Ydra’s main beach.

Miranda features uniquely styled rooms, some with old hand-painted ceilings made by Venetian artists. They are all air conditioned and offer garden or sea views. Free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV with satellite channels and a seating/dining area are standard.

A homemade breakfast with fresh local products is served at the hotel's garden, full of flowers and lemon trees. In-room breakfast, light snacks, coffee and fresh juices are available during the day via room service. A bottle of wine awaits you upon arrival.

Declared a National Heritage monument by the Ministry of Culture, the Miranda has a fine collection of 18th and 19th century furniture, prints and paintings. Several art exhibitions of a high standard take place annually in the Miranda Art Gallery. Free tickets to the Hydra Museum are offered to guests.

The hotel is located in a beautiful and quite location, only 3 minutes’ walk from the harbour and the cosmopolitan life of Hydra. 24-hour reception staff will be happy to offer information on local attractions and things to do.
