You might spot the owner-artist George's paints and brushes on the counter at this handsome 200-year-old seaside café on the old harbour. Half taverna and half museum, its excellent dishes range from simple olives and dolmadhes to shrimp flambé and mussels in tomato sauce.

    Unreasonably expensive

    ap0n does not recommend this,

    Went there last Saturday for lunch. The place is quite nice but I can say the food is very expensive for the quality and quantity. We got the the mussel pilaf, the octopus a salad and a the sarma (greek traditional food). Nothing exceptional about the taste. The pilaf was worse than mediocre while the price was rather high (40 euros for the above + half a litre of wine). Would definitely not recommend it - at least for food.

    20 years ago you had to get to the litrivi at 7.30 to get a seat and their famous stuffed mussels, then it went through a bad time but now they are back on track.
