My wife, my bub (who will be 21 months old) and I are looking to book a 5-7 day mediterranean holiday from October 2-10, after spending time in the UK for a wedding (we're from Australia).
Our preferences are:
- Looking for picturesque sand beaches, warm water and relaxed atmosphere
- Not too fussed about sightseeing (but some history is nice), prefer to stay in one place and do some day trips
- Good, simple food; nice seafood restaurants - nothing fancy, but good quality fare …
Myself and my 5 girl friends are going Greek Island Hopping in the Cyclades this summer from the 18th of August to 3rd of September. I'd love a good mix of fun, history and adventure. I'm wondering if anyone could give me some tips on what islands are a must see. Also with regards to our budget which islands are good for hostels and accommodation in general and meeting other travelers? any information you could give me is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. :)
Good day everybody!
I am planning a visit to Zakynthos 3 days + Kefalonia 5 days + 2 Ithaca and I would like to ask you suggestions on what not to miss and how to get aroung (car, scooter..), do and donts, ferries and beaches.

Hi, we are a couple traveling to Crete in late August with our baby who will be 6 months old.
We are flying into Hania, hiring a car and staying there for 4 nights. We will do some day trip from there.
We have another 10 nights to book and are unsure where to go. We could fly out from either airport. We would like small traditional villages with views from our accommodation. We like swimming but rocks are good, doesn't have to be a beach. We are thinking 3 different locations with the last…
Hoping someone can help, not been on this sit on a very long time, so hope I have posted this in the right place.
I'm going to Corfu on August and have seen that a Thomson do a day trip to Albania, is it any good and is worth going? If any other company's do the same, would still be interested in opinions of how worth while, interesting it is?
Many thanks in advance.
Hello fellow travellers!
My wife and I will be traveling to Greece for 2 weeks (last week of September to first week of October) and we need some help deciding which Cyclades to visit.
Sidenote: I have read that the weather is generally agreeable in the Cyclades at that time of year (as beach and swimming is important for us), but if you think otherwise, we may head to Crete.
We like to see culture, experience the real Greece, have good local food, beaches and see sights. We do not like…
I will move for at least 6 weeks (2 months) from mid of June till mid/end of August to Mykonos, and would like to know if is there any fb group, website where to look for a room to stay during this time. Obviously I want to spend just a bit more than local price, since I need just a place to sleep and I will be there for a long time.
I'll be traveling with my fiance to Crete in a couple of weeks - to spend 4 full days in Crete.
We were thinking of getting a rental car and stay in Chania.
The plan (of the full days) is:
day 1 - Going to Balos Beach, along with the adjacent island.
day 2 - Doing the Samaria Gorge hike
day 3 - go to Elafonisi beach
day 4 - still blurry. We need to finish the day in Heraklion because we have a flight in the morning afterwards.
Help needed in the following:
1. How should I get to Balos? I read…
Greek Seamen Extend Strike; No Ferries for 4 Days
"ATHENS, Greece (AP) — Greek seamen and journalists walked off the job Tuesday, a day before a nationwide general strike to protest new austerity measures the government is legislating for in return for more bailout funds.
The seamen’s union announced Tuesday afternoon they would extend their strike, originally planned to last 48 hours, for a further two days…
I'm going to Crete for 4 weeks to take an onsite English TEFL course. My only issue is that I don't know where or how to find a place to stay other than Airbnb. Does anyone have any experience in this part of the country? Are there sites I can use other than Airbnb to look for short term rentals? 4 weeks can add up quickly with daily rates...I appreciate you taking the time to read this and your responses.
