My mom, my friend and I are taking a trip to Europe in July and are keen on visiting a beach in Greece. As we'd really like to visit the Sanctuary of Demeter and Persephone at Eleusis/Elefsina, I noticed it's on the shore and thought it might be easy to tick off two things from our list at once.
I can't seem to find much information on the beach itself, would anyone be able to give the run down here? Is it sandy or full of pebbles, is it safe to swim, etc?
Thanks a bunch!
Hello! My fiance and I are planning our 14-day honeymoon to Greece in mid-September. We definitely plan on visiting Santorini for at least 5 days and spending a few days in Athens before we fly out. We are trying to figure out where else to go, and whether we should visit one or two more places. We are not really into beaches, but love good food, good wine, beautiful vistas, nice shops, good areas to walk around, some adventure (mopeds, sailing, etc) and some bars (though do not need really…
I am going to Crete next weekend landing in Iraklios. Can anyone reccomend a quiet pretty beach within one hour drive from there? All i need is a nice beach, a small guesthouse on the beach and a restaurant. If there is a pretty village nearby it is a plus.
My family of 4 will be flying into Crete from France, in early June and spending a couple of weeks there. We then plan to spend 2 nights on Santorini, 2 on Naxos and 2 in Athens before returning home to Australia. I was shocked to discover that fast ferries would cost us roughly €570 according to the Sea Jets website. I've had a lot of trouble working out the ferry routes and prices but according to LP it looks as though the same journey on slow ferries would cost us about €245. Does this…
If you want to go island hopping read no further. I didn't even get to Santorini. Next time.
MY PRIORITIES which influenced where I went, on this first trip to Greece: to see historical sites, beautiful art, architecture & scenery & experience Greek culture - meeting locals, eating their food etc. I often chose accommodation in locations a little outside the tourist hubs connected to well-known sites, so I had more encounters with locals who aren't dealing with tourists all the time…
Hi there, I would like to know in which part of Mykonos you would suggest us to say. We are travelling to the Greek Islands shortly, and we like to lie at the pool during the day and late afternoon we like to visit beach bars, and go out for dinners at different restaurants. We also like to visit the beaches during the day (preferably an hotel with its own beach). We are still young at heart, but we are 50+ .... so please advise.
My wife and I are travelling to Greece from May 4th-24th, 2017 and want to get on a yacht for about 5 days and sail around Greek Islands (Santorini and Mykonos etc.). We have no sailing experience and would need a skipper.
Does anyone have any suggestions about the best way to go about this?
Currently looking at some Airbnb adverts specifically with yachts.
Open to having another couple to join on the yacht and share in hire costs as an option. Specific dates: about May 6-12 or another 5 day…
Hi there, my husband and I are planning a trip to some of the Greece Islands in July. One of the islands that we are planning to visit is Paros, but now the question is which area would you recommend - Parikia or Nauosa. We are travellers that love to lie at the pool during the day, and then go into town for sunset drinks and dinner. We like a buzz for the evening. Please help. Also which side of the island is best for sunsets? And somebody mentioned something about the wind factor as…
Having travelled extensively throughout Asia for years it was finally nice to hit Greece.
We loved Greece, the Greek people, the food, the landscape and the history and culture.
Here are a few tips.
1. Get a Vodafone sim. Our sim cost 15 Euro for one month and included 8 gb of data plus local calls. There is post office at Athens airport selling another sim but the Vodafone one is a fantastic deal. The people at Vodafone are very helpful.
2.There is a real coffee culture in Athens now so a good coffee…
