KTEL bus Kranidi-Nafplio-Athens in late December?

Hi, I am planning a trip from Hydra via Kranidi, Nafplio and Ancient Mycenae to Athens in the end of December but have trouble with finding out KTEL bus schedules.
My initial plan is to take a ferry on 26 Dec from Hydra to Ermioni and then take a bus via Kranidi to Nafplio, stay there for a night or two and visit Ancient Mycenae, arriving at Athens on 29 Dec. However when I searched for E-tickets for the bus trip on KTEL Argolidas homepage it didn't show any ticket options, although it did for…

Things to do in the vicinity of Athens airport

Hi, me again harping on about April. We'll have a 4-hour afternoon stopover in Athens and aren't even going to attempt getting into the city and back in that time, but don't want to breathe airport air for 4 hours either - what are some nearby neighbourhoods that have pleasant streets and restaurants to pass the time in, and how do we get there? Thanks!

Getting around Athos

I will be visiting Athos for four days in April and am wondering what means there are for getting from one monastery to the next other than walking. I've heard that there are monastic minibuses and boats. Do they have any sort of regular schedule that would help in booking accommodation at the monasteries?

Carrying a full sized suitcase to do sightseeing in Greece

Hi, I have 17 days to spend in Greece starting middle of next week, after a very long work related trip in Northern Europe. I fly from Helsinki to Frankfurt to Athens to Santorini, i have no other concrete plans except trying to hit a few Cyclades islands before taking a ferry to Athens, and I fly home from Athens on Dec 27...

Unfortunately I have with me a full sized suitcase, I realize this is very unwise since I am writing to the backpacking crowd, but I have work clothes, winter boots,…

Greece trip report

Corfu, Meteora, Delphi, Athens.

Text below, click here for full TR.

Cheers.

I'm still in the process of ascertaining why ancient Delphi was known as the "Navel of the Earth." I just wanted that to be the title because I doubt there will be another chance to use the word "navel" in any of my blogs. The lightning quick trip thru Greece before Crete was fantastic. My last time on mainland Greece in 2000 was primarily to hike to the summit of Mount Olympos, recuperate on the nearby beach in…

One week in Athens: travel tips welcome!

Hi travellers, I am planning one week in Athens for New Year's Eve and I need your suggestions.
I like street art, industrial archaeology, flea markets and of course tasty food; I've already jotted down a plan of the trip, but I would like to know which are your favorite places in Athens and read about all those secret spots I haven't been able to track down so far.

I decided to stay in Exarchia because it really looks as the neighborhood for me, then I picked few more neighborhoods and…
