Hi All,

I am thinking of spending 2 weeks in August in Greece and I thought of combining some cultural/natural days around the area of Meteora plus a week at the beach. I have a couple of doubts
1. Is it too hot for central Greece in August considering we have an 11month baby?
2. are there any beautiful beaches in mainland or do we have to go to the islands?
3. If so, which island would you recommend? We are looking for less touristy and peaceful small places.

Thanks a lot
Franz

Some questions on eating customs on Corfu. Do they eat "late" as in Spain?

Do you order many small dishes or is it custom to have 1 bigger dish

The mani

Playing with our itinerary for Greece, the more I read up on the Peleponese, the more I realized there are so many beautiful places to see, that we decided to only revisit Delphi and Metrora only if we had some shoulder time left at the end of the trip. I am intrigued by the coastal villages of the mani, and Methoni. Looks like lots of walking opportunities, any comments from those folks who have visited this area? We ran out of time to really explore the Peloponese on our previous trips, so…

Hi,

Next week we are off to Rhodes and will stay in an apartment in the northern part of town near the Casino. Where is it best to buy food? We will have a car and are interested where we can find larger stores, but also local butcher shops and shops where to buy vegatables.

Regards

My friend and I wish to travel from Nafplio to Andritsaina on a Saturday in June, stay Saturday & Sunday night in Andritsaina, then travel on to Olympia on the Monday. Neither of us drives. We are dependent on public transport. The most recent Lonely Planet publication states that Andritsaina can be reached by bus "via Tripoli and Megalopolis", but we can find no other trace of this bus service from Megalopolis to Andritsaina, merely references online to a 45km taxi ride. Likewise, with getting…

So as long as work doesnt hold me up, i should be able to join some work buddies on Crete for almost the full month, theyre gonna rent a house. I have most of the month of August off as well so im open to travel and party if anyone wants to join. Of course, as a single guy, i want to meet people and hopefully go on a date or two with a nice girl but my main focus is the touristy sight-seeing stuff by day, party or relax at night.

Greetings from California! I have had a wonderful experience using this forum to plan vacations in the past and appreciate the help a great deal.

I am planning a Greece trip in June with my husband and 2 kids, ages 16 and 11. Really starting late and have eyeballed inter-island airfares and accommodations enough to see that there is still stuff available but my procrastination is going to cost me.

There are so many options I'm paralyzed in indecision! So...top interests are history…
