Maximos (Panagiotis Fanariotis)
Not to be missed is the walled cliff-top village of Kastro, 3km from Apollonia. A pleasant path circumnavigates Kastro and is especially scenic on its northern side - midway round the northern side, above the glittering sea, is the wonderful little art workshop of Maximos (Panagiotis Fanariotis) , whose speciality is handmade jewellery in original gold and silver motifs.
Prices for these lovely pieces start at about around €6 and are far below the usual price charged for work of this high quality. There is also accommodation here.

Vathi Beach
Vathi has one of the best beaches on the island - it is a lovely curved, sandy bay with clear waters, suitable for children. The best part of the beach is probably in front of the chichi beachfront hotel, with its loungers and umbrellas set out for guests (though the beach is open to all-comers). There's a good choice of beachside tavernas too.

Kastro
The walled cliff-top village of Kastro is a magical place of buttressed alleyways and whitewashed houses. A pleasant path circumnavigates the village, which was once the capital of the island. There's a small archaeological museum to peek in but the real pleasure lies in strolling through the streets.

To Astro
Kastro's genuine 'star', as the name translates, certainly lives up to its name. Lovingly run by the owner-cook, it offers delicious island dishes including eggplant and meatballs, octopus with olives, and lamb in traditional Sifniot style.

To Koutouki
Right on the beach and run by the family that has the same-name place in Apollonia, there are excellent fish dishes to be had here. Fish is by the kilogram but there's a reasonably priced choice.
