We are planning a trip to the Greek Islands of Rhodes, Crete and Santorini in May 2015. We have booked accommodation but wonder just how far ahead we would need to book flights with Aegean/Olympic Airlines between Athens and these Islands. We would be grateful for any advice from anyone who has previous experience. We are concerned as to how quickly these flights will fill up.
There is a train that arrives in Livadia at 8:40 pm. According to my old LP there are shuttle buses from the Levadia train station to the center then buses to Delphi from a bus stop at Hotel Levadia. Do those 2 buses actually exist and could I take that train to Levadia and still get to Delphi the same night without taking a taxi?
Im going to be traveling alone for 8 days in greece in the month of january. I fly into athens.... so I would want to spend a few days in athens. I love architecture and history in general. I dont think I have time to go on any of the islands. I would like ideas on which cities/towns I should visit. Ancient historic sites that are recommended will be well received. This is my first time ijn greece.... if you could lay out a 7 or 8 day itinerary... I would be greatly appreciated.
Im a 31 year…
While transiting from Corfu to Meteora, I have to spend the night in Ioannina tomorrow. Are there cheap hotels or pensions near the central bus station? I found a single for €30 with breakfast but I was hoping for something even cheaper.
We were blown away by the famed beautiful pebbles at Lambi beach. Might anyone know where else around the globe are there such incredible volcanic stones to see? I am done. The end.
I reckoned that the most likely candidates to answer my query here would be you lot, veteran Greek isle afficionados. *In Tom Stone's true-story book, 'The Summer of my Greek Taverna', he uses a phony name, 'The Lovely Helen', as the taverna where he suffered all those misadventures. I want to know the real, actual name of that taverna, plus its location. Rumour has it that the real taverna was the one up at Lambi beach. Is this true? Might any of you know? Just curious. Thx.
Having trouble finding info on this route. There is one direct bus (Corfu-Larisa) on the day I want to leave (this Tuesday) but it departs at 8:15 am which is not ideal. So I'm guessing the alternative would be to take the ferry to Igoumenitsa then a bus from there but I have no idea what the schedule is. Will there be something direct from Igoumenitsa or am I going to have to change in Ioaninna? Because I did find Ioaninna-Trikala departing 15:30.
I am flying to crete tonight. I want some help about information on APOSELEMI GORGE, a little east of Herkalion City. It seems like a nice place to walk, but i prefer walking with a map! does anyone know of a good map store on the island where i can purchase trekking/hiking maps?
Also- if anyone has done this specific route/gorge- id love to hear where to start it, how long is the walk, how can i get back to where i parked, is it easy to get lost?
I plan to visit Greece for my honeymoon from 19th to 26th Dec and I did some research and had some questions regarding the below mentioned. If anyone could help me on these queries then it would be a great help !
1> Is 2 nights enough in Santorini ? considering that most of the people will be in Athens for Christmas. Can we book the ferry and accommodation in Santorini after we reach there i.e on 21st/22nd Dec ? or it is like taking too much of a risk ?!! I would not like to…
