Inland from the harbour, this no-frills place is one of the oldest fish tavernas in town, dishing up reasonably priced fresh fish (around €45 per kg) as well as a range of grills and mayirefta.

Right on the beach at the eastern end, this established fish taverna decked out in classic blue and white is known for its excellent fresh fish and seafood and is always packed with locals. There's a big range of mezedes and pricey but excellent seafood.

On the first street left of the bus station, this place has excellent pizzas, pastas and risottos.

The most atmospheric and elegant restaurant in town is on the top floor of the three-level Zorbas complex enjoying great views of the harbour. Cuisine is Greek Mediterranean, and they do steaks (around €12 )

Friendly Fanourios presides over the excellent taverna. Try the kleftiko or other clay-oven dishes (around €9.50 ).
