Lonely Planet review for Paradosiako
For great traditional fare at very fair prices you can't beat this inconspicuous, no-frills taverna on the periphery of Plaka, with a few tables on the footpath. There's a basic menu but it's best to choose from the daily specials, which include fresh and delicious seafood. Get there early before the locals arrive.

amazing taste of greek cuisine
youngtravel recommends this,
If Athens is the birth place of western civilisation then this eating place is the dawn of greek nai world cuisine. The food is the result of generations of knowledge. Vegatable dishes of intense yet sensitive flavours, meat that falls from the bone. Grilled octopus which is fit for the goddess Athena herself. Ok, ok... all a little dramatic but I must emphasise the quality. We eat out extensively in the uk and the world and this rates as good as anything we've tasted. But this isn't pretentious prices and environment, this is as if you were eating at a Greek family's house in a very none touristy quite area. You pay 6 Euro's for mousaka, 10 Euro's for grilled Octopus, 6 Euro's for potaoes and bean or artichoke and pea dishes. It is an insult to yourself as a traveller if you miss this, as tasting great local food is as important and as relavent as seeing historic monuments, reading literature or listening to traditional music. You will not eat tastier food!
