Welcome to the UK, described by Lonely Planet in the latest UK guide as "simply one of the most beautiful islands on earth". You'll find that whilst people can appear flippant and/or sarcastic on this branch, it's only part of the unique British sense of humour so don't take it personally.

I am planning a trip for next spring, to spend about 2 weeks in Scotland. My idea is to plan around how many days to be on the Shetland islands and fill in the rest on either the mainland or the Orkneys. I realize that this question has no perfect answer, but I am interested in hearing different opinions about how many days to spend on the Shetlands. I am not looking for non-stop excitement every day--I am inclined to do two or three things every day, either see ruins or go for a nature walk…
Which one among Cotswolds, Stratford Avon and Marylebone is a must place to visit and stay overnight. I am looing for nature, old world charm type place in England with some development too. Something similar to Lake Como in Italy.
I have need of a vehicle for 3-4 days in mid October 2016 whilst in Japan. ( to travel from Tokyo to Motegi and back again. )
Unfortunately the issue of International Driving Permits is only valid for three (3) months at a time and must be obtained in person from the country I am from. ( I am British but have moved since march 2015 to Indonesia ) and I have virtually retired here with my wife.
alas .I have no intention of going back to the UK to purchase the IDP as required and whilst all my…
I’ve been back in London for a couple of years, but I’ve yet to take proper advantage of the city’s amazing Open House weekend – a two day event where buildings not normally accessible to the public open their doors and allow visitors: http://www.openhouselondon.org.uk
I’ve submitted my application for the public ballot (Downing St, The Shard and the Arcelormittal Orbit), so I’m keeping fingers crossed for one of the three… and – if successful – will probably structure the rest of my weekend…
I'm landing in Gatwick mid September (1st time) and I need to get to Eurostar straight away. I land at 8:40am and have a train tickets from St. Pancras at 12:24 to Paris.
- Is that enough time including going through customs?
-What's the fastest and easiest way to get to St. Pancras?
- Any and all additional thoughts or questions welcomed :~)
Thanks for any assistance you can provide.

Hello all! I am studying in Derry for three months and I am not sure what to do about my cell phone. If anyone has advice on using your cell abroad for an extended amount of time, I would be very grateful! Thank you in advance!
