Welcome to the UK, described by Lonely Planet in the latest UK guide as "simply one of the most beautiful islands on earth". You'll find that whilst people can appear flippant and/or sarcastic on this branch, it's only part of the unique British sense of humour so don't take it personally.

Please read this thread first before you ask a question, hopefully you'll find your answer already inside!

Feel free to add anything relevant to the thread too. Before we start though, here's some advice from…

Would love feedback on this trip:
We will land on April 25th at 5:30AM, so this will just be a relaxing day to recover from the flight.

Our itinerary is: 4 nights Dublin, 1 night between Dublin + Kenmare (likely Kinsale), 3 nights in Kenmare, 2 nights in Dingle, 1 night between Dingle + Galway, 3 nights in Galway, 1 night in Dublin.

Day 1-4: Dublin; 4 nights, including 1 day trip to Glendalough and maybe 1 day trip to Giant's Causeway/Belfast.

Day 5: Rent a car to Drive to around Cork: stop at…

Hi

My boyfriend and I will be in Aberdeen in May, I want to do a day-trip that takes us into the highlands and possibly stop at some distillery's throughout the day. Is that feasible from Aberdeen and are there any company's or groups that would be recommended?

Thanks!

My partner & I, early 70's very active still, American, first trip to Ireland, like scenery, music, atmosphere. Thinking of flying into Shannon, early to mid May, staying for 2-2.5 weeks. Three starter questions
I like to bump around so expect to rent a car, but how does one fine lodging when you don't know where you will be at any one time. Are there tourist offices, or simply ask at a pub, or how does this work, is it difficult or easy in May?
Second, since I'm arriving in Shannon, so do I go…

Hi folks!
Looking to travel the sights of southern England in early July 2018. We plan to travel by public transport as we're a bit nervous to drive in the uk on our first trip. Here's a loose plan of our itinerary- any advice before I move forward with details?
- Arrive London gatwick. Stay London 5 nights. Includes day trips to Windsor and Leeds Castle along with major highlights in central London.

- travel to Dorset via Portsmouth to visit naval museum. Stay in Dorset (maybe swanage or…

In July next year, myself and my Family are planning to drive from Southampton to Athens in a 4x4. We intend to spend up to 4 days doing the drive, with 3-4 nights hotel stops but need some expert advice as to the route we should take.

Taking all elements into consideration (distance, fuel prices, road toll prices, road quality, potential traffic, price of hotels along the way, interesting places to visit etc), what route would you recommend us undertaking?

Any advice would be gratefully…

I am planning a solo journey that includes England, Wales, Scotland and Ireland. Of course I would like to use a local sim card in my smartphone and have researched on this topic some of the available ones. Would someone be kind enough to let me know which of the providers have the best coverage because I will be using it for maps a lot of the time so I don't get lost.

Kind regards,
Jessebel

Greetings all!

I'd like some suggestions please. I'm currently planning for my honeymoon trip from 21 May to 3 June. I'm heading into London on 21 May, around 7PM, and heading out from Amsterdam on 3 June, around 5PM.

Currently our itinerary is still very flexible. We are thinking of spending the first 3 full-days in London, taking advantage of the London Pass. A lot of reviews are telling me that the pass isn't worth it but at 3 days I think its a pretty good deal? We do plan to see 2-3…
