Welcome to the UK, described by Lonely Planet in the latest UK guide as "simply one of the most beautiful islands on earth". You'll find that whilst people can appear flippant and/or sarcastic on this branch, it's only part of the unique British sense of humour so don't take it personally.

My girlfriend is Mexican and after searching and finding that she requires no Visa for up to a 6 month visit, we have bought plane tickets for her to come here for 5 months (start of August until the start of January). I assumed that it would be fairly certain she would get in with no problems but I googled the other day and found some stories about people getting turned away at the border and ever since I've felt a bit sick with worry she won't be let in.
I think we should meet all…

Hello everybody !
I plan to visit Isle Of Skye for a couple of days in late July.I am a 43 yrs -old female solo traveller from Turkey(to be honest I am not into hostels) and i rather have private facilities when i book some accomodation while travelling.I have already checked alot of websites for reasonable priced single rooms,B&B but it turned out to be rather expensive. My budget for a single room per night can go up to 35-40 GBP.Could someone help me find out about accomodation?
Hello! I've been looking into places to go with my partner the past few days but figured this site was my best bet to finding out where to go. Really just want to get away for a few days maybe to somewhere like Cornwall. Have considered glamping as have never tried that, but really stuck for ideas! Just looking for something to look forward to, and something not too expensive! If you have any questions or suggestions please let me know, thanks :)
Does anyone know if it is possible to do a tour of the Maze Prison in Belfast? There are a few links that suggest that it is but no official site or place to book...
So I want to travel to Ireland later this year, maybe August or September and I was looking for some advice by those who have been or are from Ireland. I'd be flying in and first off, not sure whether to go to Cork or Dublin. I obviously won't have a car so what are the public transit systems like? Just need some input and advice. I'm from the US but live in Japan and this would be my first time heading into a country with no connections and solo!
Thanks for whatever advice I can…
We are off to Europe the uk and Ireland at the end of June.
