Hi all, I thought a recap would be helpful for people as I wish I had a lot of this info when I started researching and the Bradt guide (my Ghana bible) is outdated in many ways.

We flew out of Heathrow Friday, March 18 and stayed for two nights at Access Inn in Osu. I highly recommend it as a budget place- you can check out my reviews on TripAdvisor and Booking.com. It's a 5-6 cedi taxi ride from the inn to Oxford Street. The inn also provides airport pickup. The staff is helpful, especially…

Hi all,

I'm looking to spend a few days in the Volta region of Ghana.

My main question is - am I better off basing myself in Ho? OR should head straight to one of the small towns, like Amedzofe?

Any tips would be helpful! Planning to crossover from Kpalime in Togo.

Cheers!

My good friend and I, Wendy, have had a trip planned from Ghana to Senegal/the Gambia for a while now, but, what with recent terror attacks etc. we are a little concerned now that our original planned route may not be the safest. We were planning to go from Ghana through Burkina Faso, Mali and then into Senegal/the Gambia. However, is this no longer an option? Too risky?

Our flights are already booked to Ghana in June and then from the Gambia at the beginning of August.

Would there…

I traveled across Africa in 1972 when I was 18, by train, bus, hitching, truck, river boat, foot and army truck.

In Ghana you would often see local shamans or witch doctors performing good luck or purifying ceremonies and when they made offerings it always required Henkes aromatic scnapps out of that green square bottle it comes in.

I never saw them open the bottle.

Do they still do that?

Hi all,

I was just wondering if it would be possible to get public transport between Kumasi and either Lome or Kpalime in Togo (without having to go through Accra) - any tips on these routes would be helpful!

Thanks!

Hey guys, I am planning on going to Ghana in a month and I was wondering what kind of services there are in going in between Ho and Accra. I know there are tro tros, but I was wondering what are the other options. I've read that Ho is a transport hub. Is it normal to take taxis between Accra and Ho? I am looking for options in ase I need to take large items or luggage between from Accra to Ho and back.
