You can find my earlier post about Transit Visa and that company Traveldocs.com saying quite authoritatively that a Transit Visa is required even if staying airside ... was confusing, caused much stress, much google searching emailng to Ghana Immigration who never responded ... all i can say about that company is they are WRONG !!
Maybe they mis-interpreted something, maybe they want things to be more certain and therefore want to get Transit Visa's and for you to purchase their services…

I did finally go through the lengthy process of obtaining a VISA to Ghana, but I am also interested in seeing Togo and Benin and was advised to instead apply for them while in Ghana.

While it would take many weeks to apply from Europa, I did read some old posts claiming that applying from Accra would be much quicker and could take less than a day.

As VISA situation is constantly changing, can someone please confirm whether that is still the case and their experience of the procedure in…

Hi,

i've been searching for hours the visa information for Ghana if you are not in your homecountry. It seems that it is nearly impossible to obtain a visa for Ghana if you are abroad.
I'm staying in Benin for the next 4 months (just picked up my 6 months resident-visa) and would like to obtain a visa for Ghana in Cotonou or Lome. Has anyone information if this is possible? Anyone with experiences in Cotonou or Lome?

Thanks a lot

Wanting to book ticket and save 33% to 50%, but requires long 20hr layover (and change of airlines easily resolved).
The 17% saving (50% to 33%) can be achieved by booking 2 separate tickets (on same airline) vs 1 single ticket ... go fiure Kenya AIrways! i think it's the lower taxes in Ghana

Considerations
(a) wishful thinking ... book flight (on 2nd airline) 45 MINUTES after arrival, but if initial flight late ==> uh oh, risk too great.
(b) i'm n Sudan, going to SOuth SUdan .... no Ghana…

Hello,

Has anyone recently crossed the boarder between Ghana (Paga) and Burkina Faso (Leo) and knows how much visa's cost. Everyone says it cheaper to get a visa in Accra or Kumasi. However, as I am based in Tamale it will cost me to get to Accra/Kumasi or use a travel agent. As such, I am trying to find out the cost of the visa at the boarder.

The specific visa I am interested in is a 12 month multi-entry visa.

Thanks

I am travelling all thru West Africa - mid June for 3/4 weeks
Hoping that the tourist numbers will be down then - but rain & humidity not too high!

  • is there any logic in travelling from the North or South 1st etc - to avoid the on-coming (& worsening) rain & humidity?
ie which countries are likely to be getting worst 1st?
    Any places to avoid?

Grey skies make for poor photos too!
cheers

What's the latest situation on bus from Accra to Cape Coast. Bart guide seems to say STC buses are not really running? Are there frequent busses from Accra to Cape Coast on a Saturday afternoon? Or will I have to leave in the morning?

I will spend 35 days in Ghana next month, and to my understand it is quite common that Ghana Travelers also seize the opportunity to see Togo and Benin as well.
Could someone who has done such a trip recommend how much time it is warranted to spend at each country?

I would imagine that you would spend most time in Ghana, but about how many days in Togo and Benin to at least get some feel about them? Is Togo and Benin very similar so it might be best to settle for one of them, or different enough…
