Lonely Planet review for Ryan's Irish Pub
More Irish pub than an Irish pub, this large green-and-yellow colonial building in the south of Osu serves draught Guinness and hearty food. Live music on weekends.

Really, truly a pub

Wooden floors, big screen tvs, beer smell - I have never been to Ireland, but this place would not look out of place in any American city. One thing I liked was that they had garlic bread - I suddenly realized that I hadn't had anything with garlic for a week. I believe we ended up there on a Monday and cocktails were half off. This was the most expensive place we ended up going to - if I recall, it would be expensive even in US dollars. I felt like it was worth it to do something familiar, however - everything else seemed overwhelmingly unfamiliar until about ten days into the trip, and I felt like it was important to do some things, particularly when it came to food, that would let us recharge a little. We ended up sending back one of the drinks, which was a little confusing for the waiter and bar tender, but he did remake it for us without charging for the first one.
Note - I did say that it isn't good for experiencing Ghanian culture, but that isn't technically true. Even in the places that are most like American or European places, things still happen differently, like how the wait staff operates.
