Saxon hospitality is alive and well at this mother-and-son operation in the southern suburb of Connewitz. Rooms are older but in great shape and the restaurant's home-cooked meals are the perfect hunger weapon.
Don't let the location in a residential suburb deter you. The city centre is only a quick tram ride away and some of Leizpig's most happening party venues, including Werk II and Conne Island, are even closer. Active types can make use of the small fitness room or head straight to the nearby forest and lake for a jog or bike ride (bikes available for rent). With their grey carpets and dark furniture the rooms are certainly in no danger of appearing on the pages of House Beautiful. However, what the place lacks in style it easily makes up for in charm and service thanks to its delightful owners. The kitchen is capably helmed by Mom Siegrun, who learned to cook at the ritzy Astoria (now closed), while son Christian is a tech-savvy bundle of energy, who will happily help you plug into the Leipzig scene.
