Interrail in Germany - itinerary feedback?

Hi all,
I'm currently planning my inter rail trip in Germany this summer, and I would like to get some comments on my itinerary, since it's the first time I'm traveling on my own and planning a whole trip by my self!
My plans are as follows:
Freiburg 08-11.07
Frankfurt am Main 11-13.07
Kassel 13-16.07
Münster 16-18.07

I have an appointment in Freiburg at the university, so I have to go there. I have to be in Bad Oyenhausen by the 18th, so I can only travel from 08.07-18.07. I'm thinking…

Canceling hotel after getting a visa

Hello,

I am a doctoral student in Germany and am inviting my parents from India for a short visit. I sent them an official invitation letter from the Ausländerbehörde which is called 'Verpflichtungserklärung'. This invitation clearly states that they will be accomodated at my apartment (which is a studentwohnheim -student apartment) which is big enough for all of us. But the German Consulate in India is not accepting this letter and is saying that it cannot be used as a proof of accomodation…

Cute cabin in South of Black Forest?

Hi, can anyone recommend a cute forest cabin type lodge in the south of the Black Forest? We're flying into Basel so somewhere not too far from there, definitely not past Freiburg. Looking for the kind of place that's like a fairy tale type cabin in the woods. Or anything even close to that haha! Or can you suggest an area I should look at? I'm sure you can see I'm pretty lost here, I just want to make sure we have the best possible time!! So excited!

Tips/Places to see in Germany/London/Paris

So my wife and I are heading from the states to Europe for 2-3 weeks in July. My father was born & raised in Marburg, and his side of the family still lives there - this will be my third trip over (first without my parents) and my wife's first trip. As is always the case, we're stuck with too many things and too short of time. But rather than get into everything we've flagged, I'm looking for some general tips, tricks, or recommendations.

We're currently trying to put together a basic…
