Lonely Planet review for Konstantinbasilika
The brick Konstantinbasilika was constructed in AD 310 as Constantine's throne hall. Its dimensions (67m long and 36m high) are truly mind-blowing considering that it was built by the Romans. Later part of the residence of Trier's prince-electors, it is now a typically austere Protestant church.

Huge Roman building
trent_at_lp recommends this,
I'm not sure how much of the structure remains from Roman times, but the vastness of the building is impressive and gives an idea of the importance of Trier to the Roman Empire. You won't need long here - 20 mins maybe as the interior is very spartan. Leave some time to read the informative boards across one of the walls.
Be aware of the strange opening hours - when we visited it was open for 2 hours in the morning and another 2 in the afternoon.
