More Germany questions, sorry. In late July we're going to stay in the Rhein/Mosel area for 5 nights, in an apartment or self-contained accommodation of some sort. (As it's peak season and we've left things a bit late, there aren't too many options left that match all our preferred criteria!). Our plans there are to look at castles, taste wine, cruise on the rivers, walk (wander really) and generally just chill out and relax and enjoy the scenery that the region has to offer. Available…
We are traveling to Germany this July. We will be staying in Rothenburg for 3 nights and Heidelberg for 2 nights. We are wondering where in Heidelberg it would be best to stay? Is it essential to be in the city center? We will have a rental car while we are there.
Any input is much appreciated!
I'm traveling to Munich towards the end of the month for a short duration of 5 days and 4 nights. I have been to Munich earlier and hence not too keen on exploring the city again - wouldn't mind an evening in Englischer Garten though but that's optional.
The reason I'm writing here is to seek suggestions on a day-wise itinerary covering the German Alpine Road. Me and a friend of mine - based out of Munich have booked a rental car and looking to do the Alpenstrasse drive from Lindau to…
What is the situation like with over 18 hostels in places like Berlin and Budapest?
Me and a group of friends are looking to go on holiday to Budapest and Berlin, we've found a selection of hostels and the two hostels we are looking at staying at in Budapest are party hostels. The three friends I'll be traveling with will be 18 but I will still be 17. So I was wondering would I still be able to stay in these party hostels and if not what other alternatives can we look at for accommodation that…
My husband and I are taking a two week trip to Germany in April/May. We are coming from India where we work for a bit of fresh air and respite from the craziness. We are looking to spend about 10 days hiking from one destination to the next, each night staying in a new location. I found this website and am considering one of the trails they have listed http://www.romantic-germany.info/Long-distance-hiking-trails.6766.0.html I am looking for some advice. We are experienced…
My sister and I are debating going to the Cologne Carnival this weekend. Both of us speak a little bit of German, but not much and don't know anyone in Cologne. Does anyone have any experience with the Carnival? Is it ok to go not knowing anyone, easy to meet people, find parties, etc? I saw that there are balls and parties online - are tickets required/are these fun to go to? We haven't planned too much but would most likely stay in airbnb as everything else is too expensive.
Im going to be in Berlin at the end of february/beginning of March.
Looking for someone to show me around a bit, or people to join up with to see some of the city!!
Let me know if you will be there at the same time!
We are at the planning stage of this trip and need some advice. We are coming from Toronto and want to visit Belgium, Germany and Holland.
Where should we start? Where should we fly into?
