I would like to buy an 8 year old bilingual (English/German)boy a novel in German. As he attends a German medium school he has not yet learned to read comfortably in English. I am thinking along the lines of David Walliams/Horrid Henry and an original rather than a translation. I know nothing about fiction for children in German. Anybody got any ideas, please?
Will cross post

Hi everyone,

So I'm planning on traveling to Munich before Oktoberfest kicks off in late September, trying to go from the last week in August until maybe September 4th. Looking for advice, my budget is around $1000 after travel expenses. Looking at maybe renting a bike? Not totally sure yet, this would be my first time traveling to Europe and I have always had a fascination with Bavaria. Interested in hitting all the main destinations but I need some outside advice and input on if this is…

Hello dear travellers,
This year I'm planning a tour around the world. So, has anyone a used Osprey Sojourn 60 wheeled luggage and wants to sell it?

Would be very happy.

I would like to go from Munich to Ludwigs Castles/ Neuschwanstein Castle for a day trip and then travel over and up the Rhine (stay somewhere along the Rhine for the night). Is there much to do on the southern part of the Rhine or smarter to travel to the Northern part of the Rhine and explore from there? Any recommendations for travel, lodging and locations on the Rhine would be greatly appreciated!

Hi there, whenever we go away we like to do a day's cookery class to get to know a bit more about the country we are visiting. I can't seem to find much at all in Berlin. We were hoping for perhaps some German baking. Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be much appreciated.

Hello,

I'm coming from Koblenz to Amsterdam and looking for an interesting place to stay for 2 nights. Does anyone have any suggestions? Considering Dusseldorf or Koln. Which place offers more. We like history, sights, food and architecture.

thanks
Maureen

I'm going to Berlin in less than a week and my family and I are looking for things to do in the outdoors around Berlin. We can certainly take a train and stay overnight. My daughter likes to hike, relatively easy, and my wife and I like cool architecture.

Any thoughts?

Don

Hi

Has anyone gone on the BMW factory tour in Munich? Was It worth while? Did they include anything about the slave labor that BMW used during World War 2?

Thanks in Advance

Hi! I'm going to Berlin for a month in July, and I'm wondering if I have any chance of finding a job there. I would consider just about anything, but there are two major problems: 1) I'm not from EU, 2) I'm 17 y.o.
(I'm a girl)
Do you think I have any real chance? I have a very good knowledge of German, so that's not a problem.
Thanks a lot!

Hey,

I am looking for a buddy(ies) to join me to go to Rockavaria on 29th May at Olympiapark in Munich. Iron Maiden and others will be playing and I really want to go but none of my German pals are into Rock/Metal.

The tickets are around 80euro. It will be really good atmosphere :)

A little about me - I'm 32yr old, British gal. Been living in Germany for 6mths now. I love all kinds of music but have a special affection for metal! Any Qs let me know.
