Trains arrive regularly from Hamburg (from €19.10, one hour), Rostock (from €13.40, one hour), Stralsund (from €23.30, two hours) and Berlin (€2939, 1½ to 2½ hours). Direct trains run to/from Wismar (€6.20, 45 minutes) throughout the day.

By road from Rostock, head southwest on the B105 (E22), then follow the signs in Wismar.

City buses and trams cost €1.50/6.10 for a single/day pass. In summer a ferry crosses the Pfaffenteich (€1).
