Taking the train from Paris to Mareuil sur-Ay then Baden-Baden for the saunas.
Will be in Baden-Baden the 21-22nd of December.
Then up to Gelsenkirchen on the 27th. So I have a 4 night window of opportunity and not sure where to go.
However it's over Christmas (23rd, 24th, 25th, 26th)
1) Could stop off one night (23rd) in Frankfurt, then go to Berlin 24, 25, 26th
2) Just stay in Frankfurt and skip Berlin
Frankfurt seems to have a fair amount to do, and I could avoid the long train to…
I'm thinking about doing a weekend on the Baltic coast (Rügen or Darß) in middle November. Yes it will be chilly, but if the sun is out even sitting in a Strandkorb with some wine and a book would be relaxing. I won't have a car, so arrival by train is my option.
Does anyone know of some (real) farm stays in that area? Another option would be a historical pension or hotel in the countryside or one of the sea towns like Sellin or Binz on Rügen. My budget is 60-70€ per night in a single.…
I am travelling to Germany with one other person for the first time (neither of us have ever been!) and are going for 9 days in February (13th-21st). We have decided on Munich because of the landscapes and activities it offers. We are interested in outdoor activities.. such as walks, hikes, bike rides, amazing views/sights! We do not want to ski however we would be interested sledding or snow trekking. We also loveeee food and beer enjoy experiencing the culture through its cuisine!! We…
Heading off to Berlin next week - been a few times - fascinated with history of this city especially World War 2 and the Cold War (Berlin Wall).
Anyone please suggest the most informative 3rd Reich tour that goes into a bit of depth and may take you to relatively unknown sites.
Also any former watchtowers etc remaining please let me know or books or websites with say Berlin before / after World War 2, Cold War / post 1989.
any other hidden gems please.
I am planning a trip with a group of friends. We are aged 18 to 24, and are spending a weekend together in Hamburg.
But.. we haven't really decided on what to do yet. We want to go out at night and do some sightseeing during the day, but nothing too tourist-y. Does anyone have tips for the Hamburg nightlife? Where to go and what places we should avoid?
And what are nice places to visit during our trip? We were thinking of tierpark Hagenbeck one day, that leaves us with one day we still…
We're coming to play a few shows in Germany in Feb 2016 and I was wondering what would be the cheapest company where I could hire a minivan that would fit 7 people. Thing is we need to pick up the car from the Bremen airport and leave it at the Berlin airport.
Next year we are planning to do some hiking on the Rheinsteig.
Can you recommend an attractive, quiet village or small town to stay for a couple of weeks, where we can find self contained accommodation?
I'm visiting Berlin soon and i will be doing some online shopping. I will be staying at different places so i need to pick the packages from the post office and i don't want them delivered to an address. Can i use the "postfiliale" service to order the my packages and also would i be able to pick them using my passport as an ID?
A curiously interesting place full of colourful graffiti. i took a few photos when there a few weeks ago. http://arcticterntalk.org/2015/09/30/reflections-on-essen-a-small-town-in-germany/
A few crazy folks too!
I am going to be spending seven weeks in Germany, staying in Lower Saxony near Hanover doing a workaway. I need some advice as my funds are really low and I want to enjoy my stay here as much as I can for free/cheap. So any recommendations for how to enjoy this side of Germany on a budget is appreciated!
