I'm going on the assumption that prices for most goods and services go up during the Oktoberfest festival.
with that in mind I was planning on arriving to Munich Sept. 29/30 so I can attend the last few days of festival then stay in Germany for another 11-15 days.
So my question do prices go down after the festival ends on Oct. 3 ?
im just trying to get a handle on what I should budget for my trip
We will be travelling from Munich to Cochem july 31 (sunday). Since we have Young kids with us (4 ans 8 years old) we are looking for a 3 hours stop on the road. That stop would allows us to make some sightseeing and have a quick lunch. There's many options of road (of course no direct train between those two places).
After good looking, we got 5 options:
1) No stop. Departure from Munich at 8:55 arrival at Cochem at 14:41 (Change in Frankfurt and Koblenz)
2) Stop in Mainz for 3 hours…
Looking for some advice on which airport in Berlin to fly into?
In order to get to my accommodations I will have to take 1 bus if I go to Tegel and 3 buses if I fly to Schoenefeld. I am a bit nervous about 3 buses because I haven't been to Germany before and I will be alone, but it is cheaper to fly there.Just wondering if it's easily manageable to navigate my way alone and if anyone has any advice.
I've been planning a trip and wanted to ask for advice. We have already bought a eurail pass which, thanks to a promotion, will cover us for our entire trip. Would love to hear any suggestions about our plans - we do realise we're doubling back, but that's because I want to be in Lauterbrunnen for my 40th on June 11, which is the whole reason for our holiday (I've been before and it was magic)
It's a lot of travelling, but we don't mind that and we are basing ourselves in…
I plan on taking a night train to Karlsruhe in a few weeks, but unfortunately the train will arrive when it is still dark (at 4am). Is Karlsruhe station safe at night for a single female / are there other people who are waiting or trains that are departing/arriving?
It will be light at 6am so my concern would mostly be on the two hours until dawn (at the first of sunlight i would be leaving as i will be doing a cycling tour).
Thanks for your help,
In September my partner and I are traveling to Germany. It's our first trip to Europe and a long overdue holiday :)
We arrive in Frankfurt on the 11th Sept and then my partner is attending a trade show from the 13th-17th.
We are scheduled to fly out of Frankfurt the evening of the 1st of October.
Currently our plan is to hire a car once his work is done and travel around on our own. Bryan would prefer to spend more time in fewer places than try and cram all of Germany into a two…
I visited Berlin a few weeks ago and met with friends there. As we all are interested in history and the vibe of the city, we went to some places i really would like to recommend to you.
First of all, the long path at the east side gallery. Beautiful artwork, nice view over the water, places to eat and/or drink and an amazing atmosphere. If I'm right, the Wall pieces here are 1,3km long (or something near that number), so you have plenty of art to enjoy and take photos of. Also, as another…
