Hi,

I'm considering a holiday of about 9-10 days to Berlin and surroundings this autumn. I would go by car and park that at some P+R at the edge of town. I will probably bring my folding bike to get around the city. I think I want to do about 3 nature daytrips; driving to some forest and hiking, then back to Berlin for the night.

I like hiking in colorful forests, but I'm going alone and would need some easy, fool-proof signposted hiking trails where I can't get lost, and where enough other…

Hi all.

A group of 6 of us will be in Oktoberfest for the last weekend (30th Sept to 3rd Oct).

We've got travel and accommodation sorted.

However, I'm getting mixed messages about the main festival itself.

We haven't booked seats in a tent.

I've heard that if we turn up at the start of the day (9am) we may be able to get one as not all are reservable. But chances slim at any other time.

My questions:

1) how true is this? Do we have to have reserved to have a chance at getting seats? Going…

Hi, A last minute decision to go to Berlin for the Bank Holiday weekend this weekend - any tips for accommodation please? We always like a comfortable relatively upscale room, but with the pound down we would appreciate any tips on something a bit less expensive - somewhere central (Haha, yes I know I am asking for a lot!)
Thanks in advance.

Passed through MUC in July but did not bother to use the (free) wifi. From what I understand you have to register to be able to use it. I wonder if I can register from outside the airport (network). Does anyone know the url of the registration page (and care to share it)?
Thanks

Hey everyone my name is Rose, I'm flying to Germany alone from the U.S. to go to Oktoberfest September 16th - 23rd. Then from September 23rd - October 1st I'll be taking the train around Germany exploring the castles.

I want to know if anyone would want to be a travel buddy with me? Maybe meet up at Oktoberfest or go see the castles? It would be nice to have a friendly face around to talk to.

If anyone is interested please add me on snapchat so we can talk and know that we aren't creeps lol My…

Hi,

I am in very very initial planning, so my question can be wide and I really need suggestion to narrow down my choices, base on feasibility. My question is intended for Germany as well as Austria, but putting it here. Hopefully, I will get all my answers here only.

We will fly from Los Angeles and land up 'somewhere in Europe'. I have 10 days of vacation in last week of October (20th Oct to 30 Oct). We means, me, my wife and one year old son.
We are interested in natural beauty, photogenic…

I'm a UK citizen travelling from UK to China on a UK passport. I change planes in Frankfurt, arriving at 11.45 and departing at 17.10. Both flights are with Lufthansa, so I'm expecting my bag to go straight through to China. I will confirm this.

Assuming that the incoming flight is on time, that gives me about 5½ hours between flights, less 2 hours minimum for check-in for the second flight = 3½ hours. Searches on similar topics here on the forum suggest it might just be worth trying to get…

Hello all! We will be flying into Frankfurt the morning of 14/10 and flying out of Frankfurt the morning of 27/10, so we have almost two full weeks. Below is my tentative itinerary. Would you mind taking a look and letting me know how many days/nights you would advise for each city? All travels will be via train or bus/tram. The only purchase so far has been our airfare.

Fri., 14/10 - fly into Frankfurt and head to Cologne (1-2 nights in Cologne?)*
*I was thinking of skipping Cologne and heading…

I am travelling from US to India via Frankfurt Airport. Flying Lufthansa. I do not have a Shengen visa. I want to meet a friend of mine at Frankfurt Airport. He lives in Frankfurt.I have a good couple of hours in the airport before my next flight.I shall be in Terminal 1. Is there a way I can meet my friend somewhere inside the Frankfurt Airport ? Will I have to go through any Security check-in or Customs or Immigration counter before I can meet my friend ? Please advise.
