Tigerpalast
If you want the kind of decadent night out that only a cabaret venue can provide, then The Tiger Palace is a good place to start. One of Frankfurt's top venues, it has popular cabaret and variety acts, and can be an expensive night out once you've paid for food. Book in advance. Drop into the bar for an after-show tipple.

Turmpalast
The toilets can be a bummer in this otherwise good multiscreen cinema, which shows mostly English-language current releases.

U 60311
Any underground station with this many numbers deserved to be re-functioned into a club - and so it was. Now it's one of the best stops in town for techno beats, in a unique location deep in the concrete bowels of the city. The structure makes it perfect for the breakneck electronic noise pumped out by an international roster of DJs. After you've danced up a sweat there are plenty of couches for chilling and chatting.

Weinkellerei-Weingrosshandlung Peter Dünker
There's only one of these. Located to the right as you enter the yard, this musty little Frankfurt wine cellar/dealer in Nordend is not retro, it's real. Descend, rub your eyes and try some of Germany's finest here. A snack is always sold for around €1 to prime the palate.
