Berlin

Spanish restaurants in Berlin

  1. A

    Tapitas

This darling teensy tapas bar is a top pick on Gleimstrasse restaurant row. All the classics are there – jamón serrano, bacon-wrapped dates, tortillas etc – along with a changing roster of hot tapas like chicken in lime sauce. Fabulous aioli and robust Spanish wines to boot.

  2. B

    Atame

The Spanish tapas tradition translates well to the easygoing Berlin lifestyle but oddly there aren’t many good bars around. Atame is the genuine item with a colourfully tiled bar, smiling Spanish staff and delicious nibbles served in satisfying portions.

    La Caleta

In Spanish, caletas are little bays where fish find refuge, and that’s just how owner Señor Bonfiglio would like guests to feel at his romantic restaurant. In two beautiful dining rooms patrons enjoy food from around the Iberian Peninsula. Regulars swear by the robust rabbit leg (€14.50) and the salt-encrusted sea bass (€19).

    Mar y Sol

This top tapas spot beautifully captures the sultry mood of Andalusia. On balmy nights, tables on the fountain-studded, tiled patio are a hot commodity, while in winter the action moves into the colonial-style dining room. Palate ticklers range from bacon-wrapped dates and spicy sardines to honey-and-pine-nut-coated chicken. The mixed tapas platter is €13.50.
