Lonely Planet review for Verkehrsmuseum
Nuremberg's Verkehrsmuseum combines two major exhibits under one roof: the Deutsche Bahn Museum (German Railway Museum) and the Museum für Kommunikation (Museum of Telecommunications). The former explores the origins and history of Germany's legendary railway system; the latter showcases development in telecommunications, including historic telephones dating back over 100 years.

Fascinating museum. Excellent Sunday activity.
countrykatie recommends this,
I really enjoyed seeing all the changes made to the telephones and tv's through the years. There were a ton of models on display, a few of which you could pick up and hold in your hand and dial other phones. The information is presented in both German AND English. But the recordings are only in German. There is even a green screen where you can make your own recording and then save it and send it home.
Entry is "free" with the purchase of a ticket to the DB Railway museum, located in the same building.
