Feedback on my German roadtrip

Hi,

I'm planning a driving trip to Germany from the UK in August for 9 days. I've formed a rough plan and would appreciate any feedback. There's 6 of us, 4 adults and 2 kids (ages 13 & 11.)

Day 1 - arrive Calais, drive to Maastricht, overnight Maastricht

Day 2 - drive to Wurzburg, visit Residenz (is it possible to prebook tickets?), drive to another Romantic Road town, overnight(R. Tauber?)

Day 3 - carry on down Romantic Road, visit Neuschwanstein (prebook tickets), overnight Fussen

Zurich - Munich - Salzburg

Hi All,

I am planning a trip this May to Europe for my husbands and I wedding anniversary and I am looking for suggestions on what to do.

My main destination is Munich, but I wondering if Zurich and Salzburg are other good options to visit to go as well since they are relatively close by?

I am looking to either fly into Zurich, maybe spend a day or two then drive to Munich. Or I would fly into Munich and drive to Zurich and Salzburg. I would spend the majority of the time in Munich but I was…

10 hour Layover this Saturday Frankfurt

We arrive from to Frankfurt this saturday morning around 10AM, and don't have a flight back out to South Africa until 8pm. So, train into the city seems the best way to enjoy the time. Is there storage lockers at the airport for suit bag I am carrying on? I found this info on Trip Advisor, see below.

Any festival, street markets, a must eat a meal places?

"" There are luggage storage lockers at the main train station - Hauptbahnhof. This station is only 11 min. away by S-bahn from the…

Driving Route

I'm putting the final touches on my travel plan. We fly into Vienna and out of Zurich. My question is this: after visiting friends in Munich we will be heading to Jena to see relatives. We then would like to make it down to the Interlaken area. Any ideas on the best routes to take? It looks like I can hit part of the romantic road or wine road. Thanks.

Driving to Frankfurt airport for flight

Hello everyone,

Could anyone advise me how much time to leave to drive to Frankfurt airport from Trier for an international flight? It will be a Tuesday and the flight leaves at 1340.

The drive from Trier appears to be 2 hours and I need to drop off a rental car. I'm also flying business class, but not sure if there will be priority security screening in this airport. I'm thinking if I leave at 9, I would get there at 11, then have a half hour to drop off car, so I'll be airport at 1130 -…

Rhine River Car trip

I am posting this a few months after my trip, sorry. Dates were Sept 13 – 28. Will keep it general in hopes it will help anyways.

First things – I will mention hotels and the like by name, I am not a tout; just sharing info.
Purpose of the trip was to see the Rhine River valley and attend as many festivals as possible.
Day 1-2: Flew into Zurich and stayed at the Sheraton Zurich. Easy to get to, off train at Bahnhofquai and then 4 tram stops to front door of hotel. Went to the Oktoberfest at…

Berlin for 4 days

Hello,

So next month I'll be in Berlin for 4 days and there are a few things I'd just like some advice on before I go. There's quite a bit of info so I'd be grateful for anything you answer.

• I've made this list of things I'd like to see there's 13 in total: Reichstag, Tiergarten, Kurfstendamm, Berlin Cathedral, Charlottenburg Palace, Nicholas Quarter, Television Tower, Unter Den Linden, Brandenburg Gate, Checkpoint Charlie, East Side Gallery and the Holocaust Memorial. Do you think that all…

Best guide for (northern and western) Germany?

Hi,

Me and my granddad went to Aachen on the western border of Germany last year, and both of us loved it (I went to Aachen myself two years before in 2012). We plan to go again sometime this year or next, via car. We like pretty architecture, educational activities (such as visiting museums), and our budget is low-medium.

We don't have any definite locations picked yet, but the states we might visit are North-Rhine Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, Lower Saxony, Hamburg, and Bremen.

Koblenz to Bonn by train, fast or slow?

My sister is coming from America and (unfortunately) only has time to ride the train from Koblenz towards Bonn, as she is coming from Trier. I cannot remember what all is seen in this part of the Rhine, but I do know some castles are to be seen. Is there a big difference in the sightseeing from taking a slow train vs. the high speed through this area?
