First time here.
My wife and are looking at taking, our first trip to Europe, the Bavarian Castles tour, king Ludwig II's castles and the Bavarian lakes, put on by Astrid Baur, next September 2015. This tour uses a local landhaus as a base to tour from. Other types of tours may use the bus as the base to tour from, covering a much mor extensive area.
It would be greatly appreciated if any one whom has been on both or other types of tours could provide some insight. We are in are late…
I am wondering where to buy a Räuchermännchen of good quality that is not too expensive, to have it sent to Spain. I have seen them at Erzgebirge-Palace website but medium size smokers are about 45 euro; they look of very good quality but it seems expensive. Are there sales for this after christmas or at any german website that I will not know?
Kind regards and thanks in advance!
I don't want to keep you guys too long here, any advice would be amazing!
I graduate in June and am looking to start a graduate job in September so really want to have one last blast at a bit of travelling. Now because I will graduate with little money I plan to work for a couple of months whilst saving up for a trip around Germany. Now here's where you come in...
I plan to spend three/four weeks away and want to hire a car and drive and camp around Germany. I was wondering if any…
Heading to Berlin from Dec 28- Jan 2. Any watchouts on things that will close during that time so we can plan accordingly? Anything interesting that's happening in that timeframe?
Also looking for recommendations on where to spend New Years Eve. Two single women in our 30s, not German-speaking. We're staying in an apt in Prenzlaurberg.
How are you? I hope you're having a nice week there so far.
Just have a few questions regarding a potential visit to the Black Forest in the next few weeks..
I would be flying to Stuttgart Airport from England.
Getting to the Black Forest from Stuttgart Airport by public transport:
- Is it quite easy to get a bus or train to the Black Forest from there?
- If yes, which area of the forest would I get to?
- How much is the price of the ticket each way?
Accommodation in/around the…
I am planning a trip to Hamburg in January with some friends, just for a couple of days and I was wondering if anyone had any information on breweries that would operate tours on a Saturday? Alternatively does anyone know of any good beer halls in Hamburg, I'm aware that this is probably more of a Munich thing but thought they might also have some good ones in Hamburg too! Any and all advice about where to get the best beer in Hamburg is welcome!
Hello, 23 yr old female looking to travel in august/ September 2015 for a month or so. Want to cover as much of Europe as I can, exploring, and having a good time. Anyone up for the challenge and looking for travel buddies, shoot me a message!
I will be with a friend in Germany for 7 days before christmas. We are trying to figure how to work a visit to the western castles (from Hannover to Frankfurt).
Most castles are easily reached by train or bus, but I've found rather difficult to find ways to Sababurg and Trendelburg Castle. We are considering taking a taxi, but before that, we wanted to know if there is a way to go to the place by public transport, or even a shuttle.
Tks in advance
I'll be traveling by myself around Europe during this Christmas season. I had this plan to see the Christmas market in Nuremberg just before the actual holiday, and then afterwards meet friends in Budapest for New Year's Eve. But what I'm going to do on Christmas Day is still up-in-the-air. Is there anything to do in Germany on Christmas Day for those of us without family? I don't have my heart set on Nuremberg -- I'm sure there are awesome Christmas markets in other parts of the…
My 70 yr old, not very able bodied mother, myself, and my 5 year old daughter will be flying into Frankfurt on June 23rd, 2015. Renting a car and want to see a handful of small towns around Germany. Timetable is 1-2 weeks. We are ok with spending 2 or 3 nights in several locations and driving around. The idea is to drive south and/or east first and then ditch the car either in Hamburg or the border and take a train to Copenhagen for the next part of our trip (ending in Sweden end of July).
