Kulturhaus Karlstorbahnhof information
Lonely Planet review
This cutting edge cultural centre offers a variety of nightlife options including: concerts (held at 9pm; tickets cost €8 to €30), art-house cinema , screening non-dubbed films, and theatre performances (some of which are in English). There's also a hugely popular disco, Klub K , whose DJs play everything from techno and dubstep to indie rock for a mixed crowd, most in the 18-to-40 age group. There's no dress code. Germany's largest Jazz festival, Enjoy Jazz , also takes place here every fall.
Kulturhaus Karlstorbahnhof is situated next to the train tracks 100m east of the Karlstor, the towering stone gate at the eastern end of the Altstadt. To get there, take bus 35 or, from the Hauptbahnhof, the S-Bahn one stop to the Altstadt station.
