Dear travelers. me and my friend Katri will be in Georgia from next Tuesday untill 7th September. We are planning to hike in Svaneti (Mestia - Ushguli) and also around Shatili - we dont know which order yet:). We dont have tents/sleeping bags, so would go for Couchsurfing/homestays. Otherwise all kinds of freestyle adventures welcome.
If anybody is around there the same time, please write, maybe we can share the road. And of course we'd love to meet friendly Georgian people. very excited xxxx
My boyfriend and I will be traveling on Monday to Georgia and want to get to Omalo with an offroad motorcycle. That is via Abano Pass as I understand. We both have experience with riding the motorcycle, so the main concern is the road condition. The tourist information centers told us that the road is quite ok but that we should hire a jeep. Could anyone please give additional information on the Abano Pass and suggestion if we can continue our plan? Thank you.
I'm travelling to Georgia with my fiancée next month for 8 nights, and just wanted a bit of advice on a few things. Since we're not in the country for long and we want a relatively relaxed holiday we've booked accommodation in Tbilisi for 2 nights, Kazbegi for 3 nights, then back to Tbilisi for a further 3 nights. Our plan is to use Tbilisi as a base for a few day trips out to nearby places rather than moving to somewhere new every night or two (we've done quite a few trips like that…
I'm flying from Sydney to Tblisi (via Doha) in November. I have an Australian passport so I don't need a visa, however I need proof of onward travel. I plan to travel to Armenia next, followed by Iran. Will a booked train ticket to Armenia be suffice? I want to have as few flights as possible. Does anyone have any experience with this?
As far as I can see, most (affordable) flights arrive at Tbilisi airport in the middle of the night (02.00, 03.00 etc.)
Is there a hotel at the airport, or nearby? I am aware that taxi's are relatively cheap in Georgia.
Hi all, I asked several questions in the run up to my trip so thought I'd share some notes on how things went. In general my ambitious two week plan worked well - I only changed it slightly on the ground, spending more time in Svaneti that I'd planned and slightly less in Tbilisi.
Day 1 - After arriving late the night before I spent a day exploring Tbilisi. The 'main' sights can mostly be seen in a day, and I enjoyed relaxing in the afternoon at the top of the funicular. I took the 21.45…

Your thoughts could be helpful im very flexible..
We are 4 persons in a small group of two adults and to kids (10+12) going to Georgia later this year. With the now easy to get E-viza for AZ we want to go from Kutaisi to Ganja!
I have seen that the usual way is to take a marshrutka from Kutaisi to Tblisi and then another one from Tblisi to the border (Krasny Most?)…
I assume this will be quite time consuming and I would like to know if we could also take advantage of a (share) taxi? As we are 4 people it almost mean we can use a taxi for our…
