Lonely Planet review for Hangar Bar
Focus for the expat community’s testosterone tendency, this Irish-American bar proclaims itself the ‘home of live rugby’, shows TV sport and serves Tex-Mex and Italian food. It’s always bustling and the welcoming staff speak perfect English.

Lovely atmosphere spoilt by aggressive and unwelcoming staff
jackpalmieri does not recommend this,
Advertised as a piece of Ireland in the centre of Tbilisi, Hangar Bar doesn't disappoint in terms of decor and atmosphere. However we were disappointed to discover aggressively homophobic American bar staff who threatened to throw some of our group out for perceived homophobic behaviour. It was clear that staff couldn't cope with a busy night and made us feel in the way and quite unwelcome. The Georgian bar staff, on the other hand, were lovely and extremely helpful.
