Hello, I am in the process of arranging my visit for the first half of June. It costs less with PROGRAM at Mikongo (Lope) for 4 people. We are two people now. Anyone want to join. Two nights, three days.

Also, for Moukalaba-Doudou, I am wondering how to reach the ANPN Secretariat of National Agency of National Parks?
I read on the national park site that we can contact them to then be put in touch with the curator for each park. Then contact them and pay just 5000 per day.

I haven't been able to find any info on the thorntree (or anywhere else on the internet for that matter) about getting a tourist visa for Gabon in Brazzaville, Congo.
Has anyone out there any experience about getting a Gabon visa in Brazaville and any other useful information about the visa requirements etc ?
Thanks, Tom

Hi,
I am trying to organize a transfer from Lope National Park to Eboro, the border post with Cameroon.
I wrote to a few travel agents (all those indicated in the Bradt guide plus Lope Hotel) but I did not any positive reply.

Would you have any contacts / ideas to organize such transfer? Or do I need to travel via LBV?

Thanks,
Gaba

Hi all,

I thought I wanted to post a summary of our trip to Gabon in Sep/Oct (two weeks). I have probably forgot half the stuff, so do ask me if you have questions.

Ivindo: Langoui Bai is practically impossible to visit. Reason: the research station there left in 2010 due to government difficulties and a broken bridge which no one could be bothered to repair. We got this information from the local NGO PROGRAM (07 42 82 82; email: ong.program@gmail.com) which operates down in Tchibanga…

I'm having lots of hassle at the Gabon embassy in Yaounde. Have heard from every traveler the same so far.

I was reading it's possible to get a Gabon visa at the landborder of Gabon-Cameroon for 40.000 CFA. But the Infos are from 2013. Has anyone done this recently?

I need urgently information. My flight from Libreville is booked and I need asap the visa.

Thank you for your help!

We visited Mikongo with Ghislain who has been reviewed many times all over the internet. Everything positive you here about him is true (he was extremely helpful in organising our trip before we'd even arrived in Gabon).

Mikongo was originally set up by the London Zoological Society. Ghislain was hired to be an animal tracker and thus knows the paths around the camp extremely well.

They left in the early 2000s…
