No visit to Nantes is complete without joining the old ladies with perfectly manicured hair for a coffee and cake or an all-out feast at 1890s Brasserie La Cigale. Several salons of original gilded tilework and frescoed ceilings are attended by white-aproned waiters.

    Wonderful French onion soup in lovely historic brasserie.

    I was sick when I had lunch here, so I ordered the Soupe oignon gratinee, and was glad I did! The menu is extensive and rather pricey, but it's such a historic landmark, you really should go there. The interior is so beautiful it almost takes your breath away. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

    Extraordinary beautifull restaurant, but ofcourse a bit expensive :)
    VERYY suitable for romanitc dinner (dimmed light, nice music ...)
    Food is amazingg specially Fish and Service is excellent.
    No one speaks English.

    Good for: Romance, family fun

    Not good for: budget dinning
