Korean restaurants in France

  1. A

    Ossek Garden

Things Korean – especially films – seem to be taking the world by storm these days and Paris is no exception. This place not far from place de la République has excellent barbecues on offer, but we particularly like the bibimbab (€12 to €18), rice served in a sizzling pot topped with thinly sliced beef (or other meat) and cooked with preserved vegetables, then bound by a raw egg and flavoured with chilli-laced soy paste. Staff, in traditional Korean dress, are welcoming.

    Maison Marais

Things Korean – especially films – seem to be taking the world by storm these days and Paris is no exception. This place in the heart of the Marais has excellent barbecues on offer, but we particularly like the bibimbab (from €12, rice served in a sizzling pot topped with thinly sliced beef (or other meat) and cooked with preserved vegetables, then bound by a raw egg and flavoured with chilli-laced soy paste. Staff are welcoming but language can be an issue.

  3. C

    Chez Heang

Also known as ‘Barbecue de Seoul’, this tiny place is where you cook your food on a grill in the middle of your table and eat little side dishes known as banchan that include the Korean staple kimchi (spicy-hot pickled cabbage). The fondue maison, a kind of spicy hotpot in which you dip and cook your food, costs €28 per person (minimum two).

    Rollifornia

The dynamic choice of Versailles’ sometimes stuffy dining scene: this young funky Korean quick-eat joint with designer green-and-white interior and the grooviest stainless-steel cutlery in the Île de France cooks up California rolls stuffed with imaginative combos. Good choice of vegetarian dishes.
